Launching a writing competition on the theme of international integration.

On the morning of October 14th, in Hanoi, the Press Department held a ceremony to launch a competition for journalistic works on the theme "Vietnam – The Process of International Integration."

The competition was organized with the aim of raising awareness among all levels and sectors, from the central to local governments, organizations, businesses, and the general public, to correctly understand the true nature of international integration events and the urgency of accelerating domestic preparations for international integration, especially international economic integration.

Furthermore, the competition also helps raise awareness about international integration among the Vietnamese community at home and especially among businesses and the Vietnamese community abroad, regarding the values ​​and benefits for the Government, businesses, and people when integrating internationally in the context of globalization, ensuring that Vietnam's commitments to international economic integration are truly implemented and bring practical benefits.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Hoang Vinh Bao once again affirmed the important role of the competition as well as the significance of individuals and organizations actively submitting entries. He said: "I propose that we all join hands for a 'Vietnam - The Process of International Integration' by writing quality journalistic works that contribute significantly to the socio-economic development, maintaining the independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of the country, maintaining political security, social order and safety; improving people's lives, strengthening the confidence of all strata of people in the reform process, especially promoting the image of Vietnam, its people and culture to all citizens and enhancing Vietnam's position on the international stage."

The competition is open to all Vietnamese citizens, authors, groups of authors, and news agencies with journalistic works (hereinafter referred to as authors) that meet the above criteria. However, members of the Organizing Committee, the Judging Panel, and the Secretariat are not eligible to participate.

Each author may submit a maximum of 5 entries. The entries must have been published in print or online media between January 1, 2015, and December 31, 2016. The entries should focus on Vietnam's international integration (economy, politics, defense, security, culture and society, ethnicity, education and training, science and technology, etc.) and must not have been entered in other journalism competitions.

The work has accurate content, is focused and relevant, aligns with the Party and State's guidelines, viewpoints, policies, and laws; closely follows reality, provides accurate information, demonstrates research and discovery; has persuasive and easily understandable content, is accessible, and has a wide-ranging impact on its target audience…

The Organizing Committee will accept entries from October 15th to December 31st. The announcement and award ceremony are tentatively scheduled for March 2017.
