Thai Binh City Police are investigating and verifying information about a group of people impersonating VOV Online Newspaper reporters who blackmailed Hoang An General Hospital.

On October 7, Thai Binh City Police, Thai Binh Province, said they were processing the case, investigating and verifying information related to a person named Nguyen Minh Tuyet, 41 years old, residing on Dai Tu Street, Thinh Liet Ward, Hoang Mai District, Hanoi City, along with 2 other people, claiming to be reporters of VOV Electronic Newspaper under the Voice of Vietnam Radio and KD&PL Newspaper, who came to Hoang An General Hospital, located on Ly Bon Street, Tran Lam Ward, Thai Binh City to work and had blackmailed the hospital.

Previously, on October 6, Nguyen Minh Tuyet, Pham Quang Huy and Duc Anh contacted the leaders of Hoang An General Hospital to work with the hospital in response to a complaint about the hospital's violations in medical examination and treatment.

Here, the subjects told the hospital leadership that they had been posing as patients coming to the hospital for medical examination and treatment for many days and had obtained evidence, which were clips of the hospital's violations. These 3 people "made a price", asking the hospital to pay 10 million VND for each newspaper (a total of 20 million VND) to ignore these violations, and the hospital accepted.

However, it did not stop there. In the afternoon of the same day, these people continued to meet the leaders of Hoang An General Hospital at a coffee shop to continue talking about work.

Here, Nguyen Minh Tuyet, Pham Quang Huy and Duc Anh asked the leaders of the above hospital to sign a "promotion and advertising contract" about the hospital in the press with the amount of 5 million VND per newspaper.

Hospital leaders invited all three people to the office to sign the contract and reported the incident to the police. While the “transaction” was taking place, Thai Binh City Police arrived to make a record and invited all three people to the headquarters for questioning.

Here, Nguyen Minh Tuyet gave a vague statement, sometimes introducing herself at this press agency, sometimes at another press agency, and was able to show a card issued by an electronic magazine.

Through investigation, VOV Electronic Newspaper does not have any reporter named Nguyen Minh Tuyet and did not send any reporter to work in Thai Binh province and requested the functional agencies of Thai Binh province and Thai Binh City Police to investigate, verify and handle according to the provisions of law.

Through verification, the investigation agency determined that Nguyen Minh Tuyet was not a reporter for VOV electronic newspaper but a newly recruited employee of an electronic magazine. This magazine also confirmed but affirmed that it did not send a reporter to Thai Binh to do this job.

In addition, the Business and Law Newspaper admitted to signing letters of introduction for two people, Pham Quang Huy and Duc Anh, to work at the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and the Department of Health of Thai Binh province. These two people are on a 3-month probationary period at the Business and Law Newspaper, including Duc Anh, who has only been hired for 3 days.

Currently, the Thai Binh City Police Department is continuing to investigate and verify related information.
