President: Youth are the backbone of the nation.

President Tran Dai Quang affirmed that young people are the pillars of the nation and the future masters of the country.

On the evening of October 13th, in Hanoi, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union held a ceremony to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Vietnam Youth Union's founding and to present the "October 15th" award. President Tran Dai Quang attended the event.

Attending the ceremony were Ms. Truong Thi Mai, Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Head of the Central Committee's Mass Mobilization Department; leaders of the Party and State; leaders of central and local ministries, departments and agencies; and more than 3,000 members and young people from Hanoi.

Currently, the Vietnam Youth Union has a four-level system from central to grassroots with a total of over 7.3 million members. Collective members of the Union, such as the Young Doctors' Association and the Young Entrepreneurs' Association, are constantly being strengthened, built, and expanded. Over more than half a century of development and growth, under the leadership of the Party and with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union playing a core political role, the Vietnam Youth Union has continuously grown and expanded in both scale and quality...

Locally, there are also clubs for entrepreneurship, youth volunteerism, blood donation, environmental protection, and crime prevention; clubs, teams, and groups based on professions and interests, creating diversity and richness in the work of the Youth Union and the youth movement; promoting the spirit of solidarity, initiative, volunteerism, and the youthful energy of young people in fulfilling the tasks of building and protecting the Fatherland; educating members and young people to strive to improve themselves, build careers, and contribute to national development.

The President suggested that the Vietnam Youth Union should continue to innovate its content and methods of operation; continue to delve deeply into, closely monitor, cultivate, promote, and enhance political awareness, ideology, patriotism, revolutionary ideals and ethics, and a healthy lifestyle for its members and young people, so that all young people deeply understand their responsibilities, duties, and the role and position of themselves and the current generation of youth before the Fatherland and the people. Speaking at the ceremony, President Tran Dai Quang affirmed that youth are the pillars of the nation, the future masters of the country, and the vanguard force in building and defending the Fatherland. The Party and State always place youth at the center of the strategy for cultivating and developing human resources, considering the care and development of youth as both a goal and a driving force ensuring the stability and sustainable development of the country.

The President stated that the Vietnam Youth Union also needs to widely organize revolutionary action movements and volunteer movements, making the spirit of volunteerism deeply ingrained in all strata of youth, encouraging and attracting young people with the spirit of "Honesty - Responsibility - Determination - Dedication," actively participating in the implementation of tasks related to socio-economic development, ensuring social security, poverty alleviation, national defense and security, maintaining social order and safety, and contributing to building a more prosperous and beautiful homeland and country.
