(Baonghean.vn) - Having failed to meet the New Rural Area (NRA) target in 2015, Thanh Lien commune, Thanh Chuong district (Nghe An province) is now urgently constructing schools with the aim of achieving all 19 NRA criteria by the end of this year.

Trường THCS xã Thanh liên được xây dựng từ năm 1976, nay chưa được đầu tư xây dựng kiên cố hóa, là nguyên nhân khiến xã
Thanh Lien Commune Secondary School, built in 1976, has not been upgraded to meet standards, which is the reason why the commune failed to achieve the New Rural Area status in 2015.

This year, Thanh Chuong district has 3 communes registered to achieve the New Rural Area (NRA) status: Thanh Luong, Thanh Yen, and Thanh Lien. Of these, Thanh Luong and Thanh Yen signed commitments with the Provincial People's Committee, while Thanh Luong commune is under the direction of the District People's Committee because it failed to achieve NRA status at the end of 2015.

However, at this point, Thanh Lien cannot confirm whether it will overcome this obstacle, because the locality still has criteria for schools that do not meet standards, and the infrastructure for all three levels of education has not yet been built solidly.

Mr. Pham Viet Nam, Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, said: This year, the District People's Committee has directed the commune to continue completing the criteria to reach the finish line, but it seems that it is still not possible to confirm this at this point, as there are still 2 schools that have not yet started upgrading. Currently, the locality is implementing the construction of 4 solid classrooms for the Kindergarten.

Địa điểm dự kiến xây Trường Tiểu học xã Thanh Liên đạt chuẩn, nếu từ nay đến cuối năm không khởi công xây dựng thì địa phương này thêm một lần
The planned location for the Thanh Lien Commune Primary School meets the standards, but construction has not yet begun, so the commune may once again fail to meet the New Rural Area (NRA) criteria.

Time is running out in the year, and building a solid, standardized school infrastructure for all three levels requires tens of billions of dong. The commune cannot secure this funding independently and must rely on support from higher levels. Therefore, Thanh Lien commune is likely to fail to meet the New Rural Area (NRA) target once again.
