Folk song activities: praise but no reward!

(Baonghean.vn) – Due to limited operating budget, some emulation titles under the authority of the Center have been commended but not awarded, including Emulation Fighter and Annual Excellent Worker. This is the issue raised at the meeting of the Provincial People's Council's Legal Committee with the Center for Preservation and Promotion of Nghe An Folk Heritage.

Ms. Thai Thi An Chung – Deputy Head of the Legal Department led the delegation. Also participating were representatives of the Department of Culture, Sports & Tourism; and the Provincial Emulation and Rewards Committee.

The Center for Preservation and Promotion of Nghe An Folk Heritage currently has 62 staff members organized into 4 departments with different functions and tasks. These include the department for creating and promoting new folk melodies; the department for staging Nghe An folk songs; the department for researching, collecting, and preserving; and the administrative organization department.

Therefore, emulation work is associated with professional implementation in each department, based on assigned tasks. Especially in the 3 departments directly implementing the profession, emulation is the dedication to art, the public's honor through works and roles, so emulation is very clear.

However, in the department not directly involved in the art field, there are still limitations and difficulties in evaluating emulation achievements, not creating uniformity in the emulation movement.

On the other hand, the Center for Preservation and Promotion of Nghe An Folk Heritage is a revenue-generating public service unit, but the revenue is not enough to cover expenses, so the rewards for emulation titles under the center's authority are not guaranteed, and rewards are given without rewards, including the titles of grassroots emulation fighters and annual excellent workers.

Through supervision, in addition to sharing the difficulties of the Center for Preservation and Promotion of Nghe An Folk Heritage, the working delegation of the Provincial People's Council believes that due to the nature of artistic activities and artists, the Center needs to pay attention to launching emulation movements with specific characteristics; emulation solutions to improve the spiritual enjoyment of the people, contributing to the preservation, promotion and dissemination of Nghe An folk heritage. The unit needs to pay attention to timely rewards to encourage strong emulation.

The delegation also noted a number of proposals from the Center to recommend to the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council for consideration and resolution.
