Applying high school admission methods suitable to local conditions

(Baonghean.vn)- Nghe An voters have proposed that educational reforms, such as the entrance exam for grade 10, are still inadequate. They suggest that the Ministry of Education and Training should study, adjust, and eliminate the entrance exam for grade 10. Because students who do not meet the requirements for grade 10 and drop out of school will become a burden to society.

Regarding this issue, the Ministry of Education and Training responded as follows:

In Article 3, the Regulations on junior high school and high school admissions issued together with Circular No. 02/2013/TT-BGDDT dated January 30, 2013 of the Minister of Education and Training stipulate three methods of admission to high school (grade 10) including: admission, entrance exam and combination of entrance exam and admission.

For schools that do not have the conditions to organize entrance exams or have a number of students registering for admission that does not exceed the school's enrollment quota, the admission method can be completely applied.

The application of any admission method is selected, planned and submitted to the Provincial People's Committee for approval by the Department of Education and Training, in accordance with the actual conditions of the locality according to Article 20, Circular No. 02/2013/TT-BGDDT of the Ministry of Education and Training.
