Opening of the 4th Central Conference (term XII)

Implementing the entire working program, this morning (October 9), the 4th Conference of the 12th Party Central Committee officially opened in Hanoi.

At this Conference, the Central Committee will discuss and give opinions on a number of issues regarding the socio-economic situation in 2016, the planned socio-economic development plan for 2017; a number of major guidelines and policies to innovate the growth model, improve growth quality, labor productivity, and economic competitiveness; effectively implement the international economic integration process, maintain political and social stability in the context of our country participating in new-generation free trade agreements; strengthen Party building and rectification, prevent and repel the degradation of political ideology, ethics, lifestyle, manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the Party and a number of other important issues.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong delivered an important speech opening the Conference.

On behalf of the Politburo and the Secretariat, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong warmly welcomed the Central Executive Committee members and invited delegates to the Conference and made remarks to note some aspects related to the contents and tasks of the Conference, which are suggestive in nature and raise issues for the Central Committee to pay attention to during the discussion, consideration and decision-making process.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong affirmed that the contents presented at this Central Conference are very important issues for the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress, including the implementation of the central task of socio-economic development and the implementation of the key task of Party building and rectification.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong asked the comrades attending the Conference to promote a high sense of responsibility, study, discuss enthusiastically, and give opinions to complete reports, projects, draft resolutions, and conclusions of the Central Committee and consider and decide at the end of the session./.
