New Lexus GS200t arrives at Saigon port

The sedan model was imported to Vietnam by a showroom with a 2-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine at a selling price equal to the genuine car.

The Lexus GS200t inherits Lexus's dual-contrast design philosophy. The front of the car is emphasized by the characteristic 3D spindle grille, seamlessly combined with embossed lines on the hood and front bumper.

The three-bulb LED cluster is harmoniously combined with the separate L-shaped LED daytime running lights. The body is sharp and attractive with embossed lines, 18-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels with a sporty look.

The rear of the car stands out with the 3D L-shaped LED taillights typical of Lexus, harmoniously combined with the dual exhaust pipes.

The engine is a 2-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces 241 horsepower at 4,800-5,600 rpm and maximum torque of 350 Nm at 1,650-4,400 rpm.The engine installed in the GS200t is the same as the one installed in the small crossover NX200t, but the sedan's capacity is about 6 horsepower larger.

The GS turbocharger uses water-cooled intake air cooling technology, the valve system is controlled by VVT-iW (variable valve timing system expanded) for the intake valve and VVT-i for the exhaust valve. Fuel consumption is 9.4 liters/100 km of mixed road according to the manufacturer's announcement.

In addition, the GS200t has 5 driving modes: Normal, Eco, Sport, Sport + and Customize. Each driving mode will have different effects on the throttle, brakes, suspension system, and steering wheel.

Under the pressure of the new special consumption tax, foreign importers as well as Lexus Vietnam itself have brought into the country more models using engines with actual capacity under 2 liters and equipped with turbochargers, both to avoid tax and to ensure operating index. At the Vietnam Auto Show VMS 2016, Lexus Vietnam introduced the GS200t with an official price of 3.13 billion VND. The main competitors of Lexus GS are BMW 5 series and Audi A6.
