(Baonghean.vn) - Following the direction of the Prime Minister, the Nghe An Province Interdisciplinary Inspection Team visited a number of fish sauce production facilities to check legal documents, certificates of conformity, including production processes. At the same time, samples of fish sauce produced at the facilities and currently on the market were taken for testing.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Tho - Deputy Head of the Market Management Department said: During October 17-20, Steering Committee 389 of Nghe An province conducted inspections and handled violations in the production and trading of fish sauce and dipping sauce. Accordingly, the leaders of the Market Management Department assigned 02 Deputy Heads of the Department to directly direct the Market Management Teams to manage the coastal districts (Hoang Mai, Quynh Luu, Dien Chau, Cua Lo, Cua Hoi) and fish sauce agents and distributors in Vinh City to coordinate with the Inspectorate of the Department of Science & Technology, the Department of Agricultural, Forestry and Fishery Product Quality Management under the Department of Agriculture & Rural Development to inspect and collect samples of traditional fish sauce production and processing establishments and distributors.

The delegation visited a number of fish sauce production facilities to check legal documents, certificates of conformity, including production processes. After inspecting 15 fish sauce production and trading facilities in the province, the authorities handled 02 facilities; administratively fined 1,500,000 VND. That was the case of Tran Ngoc Lien and Nguyen Tri Thanh fish sauce production facilities, both in Tan Dong block, Quynh Di ward, Hoang Mai town, for the violation: Using workers to process fish sauce without a certificate of training in food safety knowledge.

Also during this inspection, the interdisciplinary team took samples for testing at 05 fish sauce production facilities, including: Nghe An Seafood Joint Stock Company - Nghi Hai Ward, Cua Lo Town; Masa One Member Co., Ltd. in Dong Nam Economic Zone; Van Phan Seafood Joint Stock Company in Dien Chau; Cuong Ngan fish sauce processing facility - Quynh Di Ward, Hoang Mai Town and Phuong Mai Seafood Processing Co., Ltd., Quynh Di Ward, Hoang Mai Town.

At the same time, samples were taken for testing from 03 fish sauce businesses, including Hoa Binh Private and Commercial Enterprise on Nguyen Truong To Street, Vinh City; Mr. Ha Van Hoa's household in Long Chau Urban Area, Cong Hoa Block, Vinh Tan Ward, Vinh City and Mr. Nguyen Dinh Anh's household in Hamlet 8, Da Son, Do Luong.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Tho - Deputy Head of the Market Management Department added that currently, fish sauce samples are being sent to the competent authorities for quality testing.
