Land for unfeasible projects in Cua Lo town will be reclaimed.
(Baonghean) - There are over 10 projects to build motels, fishing ports, resorts, real estate... with an area of hundreds of thousands of square meters.2In Cua Lo Town, the progress is slow, and construction has not even started after many years of granting investment certificates. In a recent working trip with the town leaders, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee conducted a field survey and directed all levels and sectors to review and have plans to withdraw unfeasible projects.
Unfeasible projects
Cua Lo town is an attractive and key coastal tourist destination of the province, so most of the land area along Cua Lo beach is planned to build tourism-serving facilities, making the land here considered "every inch of land is worth an inch of gold". Therefore, large enterprises in and outside the province, as well as local people, have focused on investing in building luxurious restaurants, hotels... Cua Lo town is therefore becoming more and more beautiful, meeting the needs of increasingly demanding tourists.
However, besides that, there are also many projects that "embrace" thousands of square meters.2, unfinished construction, or abandoned land for a long time.

The project of the complex of tourist hotels and luxury apartments in Cua Lo town has stopped construction for many years after completing the rough construction. |
Faced with the reality that many projects are behind schedule, do not fulfill tax obligations as prescribed and do not comply with the extended time, the People's Committee of Cua Lo town proposed to the Provincial People's Committee to revoke projects that are behind schedule and not feasible as prescribed.
Will be resolutely handled
Faced with the reality that many business projects of motels, hotels, real estate... in Cua Lo town are slow to progress, or are not feasible, causing frustration among local voters for many years, in mid-October, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Duong presided over, along with departments and branches, an inspection of 10 civil projects and a number of defense and security projects.
The delegation directly inspected the field and listened to the opinions of the People's Committee of Cua Lo town, departments, branches and project owners. Here, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee disagreed with the slow progress of the projects, especially for some projects that have not yet started construction, although the Provincial People's Committee had completed the legal procedures many years ago.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directed departments and branches to advise the Provincial People's Committee to thoroughly resolve unfeasible projects that have not completed land procedures and have not fulfilled tax obligations to the State.
Accordingly, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Planning and Investment to report to the Provincial People's Committee on the progress and implementation results of the projects that the delegation inspected. At the same time, send documents to project owners. For projects that the investor has a written extension, there must be a commitment on the implementation time and implementation according to the commitment; so that the Provincial People's Committee can use it as a basis for land recovery later (if the commitment is not fulfilled).
Assign the People's Committee of Cua Lo town to issue specific documents for each project within this October.
With that viewpoint, in the coming time, the Provincial People's Committee will proceed to revoke projects for which investors have made written commitments but do not fulfill their commitments, and for projects without commitments.
