Opening of the largest auto show ever in Vietnam

On October 26, the 2nd Vietnam International Motor Show (VIMS 2016) officially opened in Ho Chi Minh City.

Most brands brought to VIMS 2016 at least one model that was considered a trump card.

After the withdrawal of three brands, Rolls-Royce, Land Rover and Jaguar, due to unavoidable reasons, VIMS only had 16 brands participating. However, this is still the largest auto show ever in Vietnam, in terms of scale, brands and number of models on display.

According to the announcement of the organizing committee, VIMS 2016 has a total of nearly 150 car models on display, many of which are being introduced to the Vietnamese market for the first time.

Among the luxury brands, Porsche made a strong impression when it introduced the all-new Panamera Turbo. This model is even expected to officially launch on the world market in the second quarter of next year.

Fellow German automaker Audi brings the unique small SUV Q2, a car that has both the appearance of a sports car and the design features of a coupe while still being a true SUV.

Besides the Q2, there are other models that have contributed greatly to Audi's reputation in Vietnam, such as the A6 sedan, A8L Limousine, TT, Q7, and the R8 Coupe supercar. Notably, most of the Audi cars present at VIMS 2016 are equipped with the Quattro all-wheel drive system.

The only super luxury brand Bentley attracts attention with a series of models that are the dream of many consumers such as Bentayga with a completely new W12 engine, the world's fastest super luxury sedan Flying Spur, the grand tourer Continental GT or Mulsanne.

After the recent BMW World 2016 event in Hanoi, the luxury brand from Germany continues to bring to VIMS 2016 a collection with a full range of models across all segments including the Series 3, 5, 7 sedans, the 7-seat family car Series 2 Gran Tourer, the multi-purpose SAV X Series, the coupé and roadster 4 Convertible, 3GT, 5GT. Notably, at VIMS 2016, BMW introduced to consumers for the first time the high-performance M4.

In addition, there are a series of other car models that are strongly attracting consumers such as the "newcomer" Maserati Quattroporte 2017, the street supercar Maserati GranTurismo, the new generation Mercedes E-Class luxury sedan, the high-performance Mercedes SLC 43 AMG...

In the group of popular brands, car manufacturers are no less attractive with new models. Notable among them are the new generation Nissan X-Trail SUV, Renault with the mid-range Talisman sedan, and Suzuki with the all-new Ciaz sedan.

At the second exhibition held, VIMS had the first appearance of the famous Russian automobile brand UAZ. Meanwhile, two motorcycle brands Peugeot and BMW Motorrad became “strange dishes” for consumers.

VIMS 2016 will officially open to visitors from the morning of October 27 and last until October 30 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), Ho Chi Minh City.
