Minister of Education and Training awarded certificate of merit to Faculty of Political Education, Vinh University

(Baonghean.vn) – On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of its establishment, the Minister of Education and Training awarded Certificates of Merit to the collective and 3 individuals of the Faculty of Political Education, Vinh University.

On the morning of October 30, the Faculty of Political Education, Vinh University solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate its 30th founding anniversary (1986 - 2016). Attending the ceremony were comrade Do Trong Hung - Standing Deputy Secretary of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee; Professor, Doctor Dinh Xuan Khoa - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee, Party Committee Secretary, Rector of Vinh University; representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, Provincial Political School, generations of students and trainees.

In September 1974, Vinh Pedagogical University decided to establish the Marxist-Leninist Department. In September 1985, the Minister of Education decided to establish the Faculty of Political Education at Vinh Pedagogical University. In the 1986-1987 school year, the Faculty officially enrolled the first course to train university-level teachers in political education.

Over 30 years of construction and development, the Faculty of Political Education, Vinh University, the faculty's staff has continuously grown; the scale and form of training have been increasingly expanded at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels with over 3,000 students and graduates.

The Minister of Education and Training signed a decision assigning the task of postgraduate training in the major of Theory and Teaching Methods of Political Education in 2006 and in the major of Political Science in 2012 to the Faculty. In October 2016, the Minister of Education and Training issued a decision allowing the Faculty to train PhDs in Political Science.

In the 2016-2017 school year, the Faculty has a staff of 7 Associate Professors, 17 PhDs and 20 Masters in specialized fields.

On behalf of the school's leadership, Professor, Doctor Dinh Xuan Khoa - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Party Secretary, Principal of Vinh University acknowledged and warmly commended the achievements of generations of teachers and students of the Faculty of Political Education.

Regarding the upcoming tasks, comrade Dinh Xuan Khoa emphasized: The Faculty of Political Education continues to attach importance to and take the lead in implementing well the work of political and ideological education, training steadfast political qualities for students and trainees of the whole school.

Along with that, regularly grasp the resolutions, guidelines, policies of the Party, policies and laws of the State, build the faculty's teaching staff into a core force in propagating and implementing solutions to maintain political mettle, revolutionary and scientific nature; firmly uphold Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh's thought and the country's renovation policy among cadres, civil servants, students, and the entire school.

A very important task that Professor Dinh Xuan Khoa suggested is that the faculty continuously innovates teaching content and methods; pays attention to the work of building a team of cadres and scientific research activities to continue opening suitable training majors and majors, contributing to summarizing practices and building the Party's theory, especially in implementing the Resolution of the 12th National Congress of the Party.

At the ceremony, Professor, Dr. Dinh Xuan Khoa awarded the Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Education and Training to the Faculty of Political Education and 3 individuals with outstanding achievements in construction and development (1986 - 2016). The Executive Committee of the Vietnam Education Trade Union awarded the Certificate of Merit to the Faculty Trade Union and 1 individual with outstanding achievements in Trade Union activities on the occasion of the unit's founding anniversary.
