The head of a rotating savings and credit association who fled with billions of dong in Dien Chau has been arrested.
(Baonghean.vn) - The Dien Chau District Police have just initiated a criminal case, indicted and temporarily detained Tran Thi Soa (born in 1965), residing in Dien Thanh commune, Dien Chau district, for the crime of abusing trust to misappropriate property.

As reported by Nghe An Newspaper, after a period of enticing small traders at Phu Dien market and residents in Dien Chau district to pool money together for high interest rates, on the evening of September 16th, Ms. Tran Thi Soa (born in 1965, residing in Hamlet 9, Dien Thanh commune) secretly fled from her home. One day later, her husband, Cao Xuan Nam (born in 1960), also fled.
After learning that Ms. Soa had fled, the creditors went to her house, vandalized it, and took all her valuables. They then collectively filed a report with the authorities.
The Investigation Police Department of Dien Chau District received more than 100 complaints from traders at Dien Thanh Market and in Dien Chau Town, alleging that Ms. Soa and Mr. Nam acted as "loan sharks," collected money from the local community, and then fled the area with approximately 6 billion VND.
Recognizing the serious nature of the incident, its impact on security and public order in the area, and the resulting anxiety among the public, the police promptly launched an investigation.

Through the verification process, investigators determined that the citizen's allegations were well-founded. The investigating agency verified that Ms. Soa was living with her second daughter, who is now married and lives in Hai Duong province.
On October 4th, the task force raided the location, arrested the suspect, and brought her to the Dien Chau District Police investigation agency. At the investigation agency, Tran Thi Soa confessed to her actions.
Currently, the Criminal Investigation Department of Dien Chau District Police is continuing to expand the investigation into the case.
