(Baonghean.vn) - The Thanh Chuong District Department of Education and Training has decided to suspend Mr. Tran Van Binh, the homeroom teacher of class 4B at Kim Lam Primary School (Thanh Son commune, Thanh Chuong district), for 15 days to further investigate his alleged act of hitting students during class.

According to a report from Kim Lam Primary School, on October 10, 2016, the parents of Lo Vi Dang, a student in class 4B at Thai Lam branch school, met with the school's administration to request a transfer to the central school campus, citing that the student had been beaten by teacher Tran Van Binh.

Following this incident, school leaders, including Mr. Hoang Van Danh and Mr. Dang Ngoc Linh, held a meeting and invited the parents to stay to learn more about the matter. They also requested Mr. Tran Van Binh to submit a written explanation.

The main reason was that during math class, because Dang couldn't solve a problem, Mr. Binh used a wooden ruler to hit him on the buttocks. Speaking with us, Mr. Hoang Van Danh, the school principal, added: "Mr. Binh hitting the student was wrong."

The school's stance is to handle the matter strictly, without cover-up. The school is currently awaiting the results of the police investigation and reviewing relevant documents to determine appropriate disciplinary action for Mr. Binh's misconduct. After the incident, Mr. Binh encouraged, visited, and took Dang to the hospital for a health check. Dang's health is now stable, and he is attending school normally.”

Reportedly, the Nghe An Department of Education and Training has issued a document requesting strict disciplinary action against Mr. Tran Van Binh. It also affirmed that this is a serious violation of teacher ethics.
