Previously, at noon on November 6, Mr. Dang Van Nghinh (35 years old) and Nguyen Anh Tuan (33 years old), both working at the News Department, Thai Nguyen Provincial Radio and Television Station, went to the border area between Hamlet 8B of Quan Chu town and Hamlet Cay Hong of Quan Chu commune, Dai Tu district to report on the situation of sand and gravel mining.

After about 15 minutes of filming, a young man came and asked the two journalists to stop filming, but they continued to work. Upon receiving the information, the leaders of Dai Tu District Police were present to investigate the incident. Initially, the police identified the people who beat the two journalists as Nguyen Dinh Bay (29 years old) and Nguyen Dinh Tam (27 years old), sons of Nguyen Dinh Mut, residing in Cay Hong hamlet, Quan Chu commune, Dai Tu district.

Mr. Mut is the person who was contracted by the People's Committee of Quan Chu commune to exploit sand and gravel in the riverbed to build concrete roads for the commune. This is a policy of Dai Tu district, allowing the locality to utilize the sand and gravel in the riverbed to build rural roads because this is a poor commune with special difficulties.

After summoning Mr. Bay and Mr. Tam for questioning, the two young men admitted to beating the two journalists. Currently, Dai Tu District Police are continuing to investigate and clarify the case to handle it according to the law.
