North Korea threatens to fire missiles at the US on election day

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is reportedly preparing to fire a missile at the United States on election day, as a warning to the country's new president.

Express news site quoted South Korean military experts as saying that North Korea plans to fire a medium-range ballistic missile tomorrow, November 8, when Americans go to the polls to elect the country's 45th president.

Experts predict that North Korea will launch Musudan or BM-35 missiles - both capable of reaching a range of about 2,900km - to the US territory of Guam.

South Korean military experts are monitoring North Korean missiles along the border between the two countries. There is evidence that a Musudan missile has been moved to the Kusong area, where the country fired a missile last month.

"There has been speculation that North Korea will launch a missile in the near future as North Korea experts say Pyongyang appears to want to send a strong message to the new US president," a South Korean military source said.

Last month, North Korea launched a Musudan missile that failed, traveling only 400km.
