Strengthening the friendship between Vietnam and Russia.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of November 6th, the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association of Nghe An organized a gathering to commemorate the 99th anniversary of the Russian October Revolution (November 7th, 1917 - November 7th, 2016). This was also an opportunity for members of the Oresxovo and Zuevo branches to reunite and celebrate 30 years since their return to Vietnam.

Attending the ceremony were Comrade Ngo Dang Muoi - General Secretary of the Nghe An Union of Friendship Organizations; Comrade Ngo Xuan Phung - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association of Nghe An province; Comrade Le Quang Uy - Chairman of the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association of Ha Tinh province, along with a large number of members of the Oreskovo and Zuevo branches.

At the meeting, the members reviewed the glorious history, significance, and importance of the Russian October Revolution. Ninety-nine years ago, on November 7, 1917, under the leadership of the Russian Communist Party, headed by V.I. Lenin, the Russian October Revolution triumphed and went down in human history as one of the greatest events of the 20th century. The October Revolution awakened oppressed nations, illuminating the path of development and progress towards building socialism.

The Russian October Revolution also laid the foundation for the precious traditional friendship between the Vietnamese and Russian peoples. Overcoming the challenges of time and historical ups and downs, the relationship between the two nations continues to develop and strengthen.

Comrade Ngo Xuan Phung, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association of Nghe An province, expressed his hope that the friendship between Vietnam and Russia will always be maintained and strengthened.

The Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association of Nghe An province has contributed to developing the traditional solidarity, friendship, and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and the Russian Federation in general, and has played a good role as a bridge between high-level delegations from Nghe An and its sister province, Ulyanovsk, Russia in particular, such as: collecting information, documents, and memorabilia; participating in exhibitions at the "President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Room" in Ulyanovsk city; mobilizing members to contribute to the construction of the GMTitop monument in Ha Long Bay; and successfully organizing a New Year's gathering with the Nghe An community in the Russian Federation who returned home to celebrate Tet...

Comrade Ngo Xuan Phung, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association of Nghe An province, suggested that in the coming time, the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association of Nghe An province should do a better job of uniting and strengthening the bonds among those who have worked or studied in the Russian Federation. This would further enhance the dissemination of information about the tradition of friendship and close ties, contributing to strengthening the Vietnam-Russia relationship. In particular, preparations should be made for the 100th anniversary of the Russian October Revolution in 2017.
