In 1980, Jon Bon Jovi - then 18 years old - met Dorothea Hurley during a high school exam. Jon did not study and was forced to ask the girl next to him for the answer. From then on, they talked to each other and maintained a friendship. When he learned that Dorothea Hurley was attached to Bobby - Jon's best friend, he still did not hide his feelings. "We did it for ourselves. Because of this decision, I received a lot of pressure from the band, my parents, my manager. Everyone was angry. After a few days, I thought I shouldn't worry about what other people thought," Jon recalled.
