In October, many international beauty pageants took place, such as Miss International, Miss Grand International, Miss Earth, Miss Global Beauty Queen... Of these, four events featured Vietnamese contestants. Amidst this plethora of beauty contests, Nam Em received less attention when she competed in the Philippines.

The 20-year-old beauty arrived at Miss Earth on October 6th and actively participated in the competition's activities. Nam Em was highly praised for her efforts in the preliminary rounds. She successively won gold and silver medals in the preliminary competitions such as Miss Photogenic, Miss Talent, and Evening Gown.

As of October 28th, Nam Em topped the Missosology readers' poll for the most favorite contestant with over 93,000 votes (72%), far ahead of the second-place contestant, the representative from Myanmar, who received 26,000 votes.

On Nguyen Le Nam Em's personal page, many viewers wished her good luck and offered advice on her outfit, hairstyle, makeup, and accessories for the final night on October 29th. On the official Miss Earth page, fans worldwide praised the radiant smile of the Vietnamese representative.

Vietnam's representatives lead the Asian region in performance across the supplementary competitions.

Nam Em was born in 1996, is 1.73m tall, weighs 50 kg, and has measurements of 85-60-90. She was a Top 10 finalist in Miss Universe Vietnam 2015 and registered to compete in Miss Vietnam 2016 but later withdrew.

Vietnam has previously sent several representatives to Miss Earth, including Truc Diem (winner of the Best Fashion Award in 2007), Diem Huong (received the Miss Bikini title and was in the Top 14 of Miss Earth 2010), Ha Anh (in 2006), Phan Thi Mo (in 2011), and Hoang Anh (in 2012).

This year's Miss Earth competition features 83 contestants from various countries and territories. The grand finale will take place on October 29th at the Mall of Asia Arena, Manila, Philippines.
