'Fake' doctor disappears after being discovered using fake degree

After being found to be using a fake degree, the young doctor has disappeared since then.

On October 27, Dr. Duong Van Hoa - Director of Phu Phong Regional General Hospital in Tay Son District (Binh Dinh) said that nearly two months have passed, but Mr. Nguyen Van Thu, 24 years old, residing in Vinh Thinh Commune, Vinh Thanh District (Binh Dinh) has not returned to the hospital to resolve some administrative procedures after he voluntarily quit his job because he was discovered to be using a fake general practitioner degree.

In June 2016, Nguyen Van Thu submitted a job application, along with a certified copy of his regular medical degree with honors. This degree has the number 0084108, registered in the certificate book number 1026/DH16, issued by the President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy on May 27, 2016.

Accordingly, on June 30, 2016, Phu Phong Regional General Hospital signed a probationary contract with Dr. Nguyen Van Thu from July 1 to August 31, 2016 and assigned him to work in the infectious diseases department.

Immediately afterwards, some hospital officials discovered unusual signs, because at this time, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy had not yet concluded the course, so the graduation certificate had not been issued.

To clarify the truth, at the end of August 2016, Phu Phong Regional General Hospital sent a verification document and received a response from Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy stating that it did not issue a general practitioner diploma with the above-mentioned registration number to Nguyen Van Thu. By then, “doctor” Thu had disappeared until now.
