More than 200 players participate in the Vinh City Parish Great Unity Football Tournament

(Baonghean.vn) - To celebrate the 86th anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front's Traditional Day (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2016), and Christmas 2016, on the afternoon of November 5, the Vinh City Fatherland Front Committee held the opening ceremony of the 2016 Vinh City Great Unity Football Tournament for parishes.

The tournament had more than 200 players from 13 parish teams and 2 teams from the city's mass organizations and internal affairs.

Through the tournament, we aim to strengthen solidarity and unity between parishes in the city and with the government and organizations, thereby joining hands to contribute to the cause of socio-economic development and ensuring local security and order.

The goal of Dong Kien Parish player increased the score to 5-3 against My Hau Parish team.

The tournament will take place over a week, with 15 teams divided into 5 groups, with the top 5 teams and 3 runners-up advancing to the quarter-finals. The quarter-finals, semi-finals, and finals will take place on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday next week.

The tournament attracted a large number of fans to watch and cheer.

On this occasion, the Vinh City Fatherland Front Committee has allocated from the Fund for the Poor and contributions from businesses to support 40 poor Catholic households with especially difficult circumstances, each household receiving 2 million VND to help Catholic households have a peaceful and happy Christmas.
