Commending 337 excellent teachers at the provincial level

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 8, in Vinh City, the Department of Education and Training held a closing ceremony for the 2016 Provincial Excellent Teacher Competition for Secondary Schools.

The contest was attended by more than 517 teachers from schools in 21 districts, cities and towns across the province. Within 1 month (from October 11 to November 5, 2016), the teachers successfully completed their contest.

Through 3 competitions: Experience Initiative, Professional Competency Test and Teaching Practice, the competition selected 337 people to achieve the title of "Excellent Provincial Teachers at Secondary School Level", reaching 65.2%. These will be professional pillars, contributing to improving the teaching quality of secondary schools, and a source of additional professional core staff at secondary school level in districts, cities and towns.

The contest also contributed to promoting emulation movements in schools; encouraging, motivating, creating opportunities and training teachers and managers to self-study and be creative. Through the contest, the Department of Education and Training and secondary schools discovered, commended and replicated advanced models, contributing to creating motivation for the development of education in localities and units.

At the same time, it is the basis for assessing the current status of the team, thereby developing a training and development plan to improve the professional qualifications of teachers, meeting the requirements of educational innovation.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Director of the Department of Education and Training Nguyen Thi Kim Chi highly appreciated the hard work and meticulous preparation of each teacher and school. At the same time, she advised that once having achieved the title of “Provincial Excellent Teacher”, in the coming period, she must maintain the title and especially must strive to shine on the podium. From there, she will contribute to the successful implementation of the requirements of fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education in a practical and effective manner; worthy of the trust and love of students, parents and the whole society.

Leaders of the Provincial Federation of Labor awarded certificates of merit to 14 individuals who won first prize at the competition.

At the closing ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded certificates of merit from the Department of Education and Training to 6 groups; certificates of merit from the Provincial Labor Federation to 14 individuals who won first prizes, and certificates of merit from the Education Trade Union to 14 individuals who won second prizes in the competition.
