Witness account of drug-addled son slashing his biological mother
(Baonghean.vn) - The incident happened more than 3 days ago but the people of Hung Dong commune, Vinh city still cannot forget it. Although Trinh was a naughty child, no one thought of slashing his biological mother.
Drugged man slashed his mother at night
According to Ms. Quach Thi Hang (daughter-in-law of Ms. Nguyen Thi Bang), the incident happened at around 1:00 a.m. on November 15. She had been sleeping for a while when she heard her mother-in-law calling for help. Because the house was right across the street, she immediately woke up and opened the door to run over.
Because she was alone, her husband had gone to work abroad, and her father-in-law, Mr. Nguyen Van Quang (born in 1956), was working as a security guard for a company, Ms. Hang had to call Mr. Nguyen Van Thang (born in 1962, Ms. Bang's younger brother) to take the victim to the emergency room.

“I ran into the house to check and saw that Mr. Trinh had already fled. The knife was thrown into the backyard. At the time of the incident, my 3-year-old son was sleeping with his mother. Luckily, he was okay,” said Ms. Hang.
According to Ms. Hang, the victim was still conscious despite being slashed many times and was then taken to the Transport Hospital for emergency treatment. During the night, Ms. Bang was taken to Nghe An General Hospital.
On the afternoon of November 16, the victim underwent surgery for two deep cuts to the head, causing a skull concussion and internal bleeding. Currently, Ms. Bang’s health is no longer in danger but is still very weak.
Upon receiving information about the incident, Hung Dong Commune Police and Vinh City Police began investigating and arresting the suspect. By the afternoon of November 5, Trinh was subdued by the criminal police while hiding in the locality, nearly a kilometer from his home.
At the investigation agency, Trinh admitted his actions. According to the initial statement, Trinh used crystal meth before committing the crime. Currently, Vinh City Police Department is criminally detaining Nguyen Tien Trinh (born 1998) to investigate the act of intentionally causing injury.

Ms. Hang and Mr. Thang recounted the whole incident. |
Trinh is the youngest of four siblings. His older siblings are married and live separately, only Trinh lives with his parents. However, because he realized his academic performance was poor, after 6th grade, Trinh dropped out of school and stayed home to hang out.
Despite his parents' many attempts to persuade and beat him, Trinh still refused to return to school and often ran away from home with friends. Because he was fond of playing and hanging around, Trinh became increasingly spoiled. With no money to spend, he stole phones and money from his relatives and sold them many times.
Many times, Mr. and Mrs. Bang had to "shamefully" apologize and pay Trinh's debt. Worried that their son would be spoiled, the family reported to the police for intervention. However, because he was underage at that time and the assets were of small value, Trinh was only warned by the authorities.
Not only that, what Mrs. Bang and Mr. Nguyen Van Quang (born in 1956, Trinh's father) feared the most was that Trinh showed signs of drug use. Many times they asked if he stole the phone to buy drugs, but Trinh denied it.

Seeing Trinh getting thinner and thinner, and showing signs of fatigue and yawning all day, one time Trinh continued to steal phones, Mr. Quang used an iron chain to chain him to the window on the bed. After a week of keeping Trinh at home, seeing that his son showed no signs of fatigue, Mr. Quang felt relieved to remove the chain.
In early September 2016, the family decided to send their son to the provincial drug rehabilitation center to monitor whether he was addicted to drugs or not. After 10 days, Trinh was released by the center because it was determined that he was not addicted. However, this young man is also under the local police's surveillance./.
