On the morning of November 5th alone, they captured six districts in Mosul – IS's largest stronghold – breaking through the terrorist organization's defenses and fighting them in the streets.

These fighters were part of the 1st Special Forces Battalion and became heroes in the hearts of the local people. They were praised for the fact that "each member could take on thousands of ISIS fighters."

They are gradually retaking Mosul, the stronghold of IS.

On November 1st, they fought their way to the Gogjala area and became the first Iraqi unit to enter Mosul. The city is now under the complete control of the Iraqi army.
