The legendary monkey Kong in "Kong: Skull Island" has angry but sorrowful eyes, living as a Lord on a reclusive island.

The Kong: Skull Island project first revealed the full look of the monkey king Kong on Entertainment Weekly.

Director Jordan Vogt-Roberts affirmed: “There have been many different versions of King Kong. In Kong: Skull Island, we wanted this character to be completely different. I wanted even a third grader to be able to draw King Kong on paper. The image of King Kong needed to be simple, highly iconic and memorable."

The filmmaker of The Kings of Summer added that the image of King Kong is like a lonely God wandering on a deserted island in the Pacific Ocean. According to the script, King Kong is partly built on the character model of the tragic genre.

According to director Jordan Vogt-Roberts, the new King Kong is different from the character in director Peter Jackson's last version in 2005. Instead, the character is reminiscent of the King Kong version in the first black-and-white King Kong film in 1933. It took months for special effects experts to create King Kong's sad and emotional eyes. In addition to the skin, the fur on King Kong's body was also the part that took the most time to create. King Kong in the new film is also expected to appear earlier in the plot - about 40 minutes into the film.
