(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of November 15th, the Vinh City People's Committee, in coordination with the Hai An Market Investment, Construction, Management and Exploitation Cooperative, held a meeting to gather opinions from 800 small traders regarding the implementation of the project to rebuild Vinh train station market.

At the meeting, nearly 800 small traders operating at Vinh Railway Station Market were informed by the City People's Committee about the approval of the policy allowing the Hai An Market Management and Construction Investment Cooperative to access, survey, and implement a plan for the reconstruction of Vinh Railway Station Market.

The cooperative also presented a plan for the investment, construction, management, and operation of the market. The project involves the construction of a new, modern, five-story Vinh train station market with over 1,000 business stalls. The total investment cost for the market is nearly 900 billion VND, and the project implementation period is two years. During the construction process, the investor will arrange a temporary market area for small traders to conduct their business.

After hearing the investor's presentation, the vast majority of small traders expressed disagreement with the city's plan to implement the project. They also petitioned the city and the market management board regarding the current fee collection and usage. Responding to the traders' concerns, a representative from the City People's Committee stated that they would report to higher-level leaders to reconsider the plan to attract investment for the reconstruction of Vinh Railway Station Market.
