Farmers caught a yellow eel weighing nearly 1kg

A farmer in the West has just caught an eel weighing nearly 1kg with a strange, shiny yellow color. Traders priced the eel at 50 million VND, but the farmer has not sold it yet.

In recent days, people in Vinh Long province have been buzzing with the news that Mr. Nguyen Van Chi (born in 1967, residing in Hau Thanh hamlet, Long An commune, Long Ho district, Vinh Long province) caught a golden eel weighing nearly 1kg in the field.

The golden eel was caught by Mr. Chi from the field.

According to Mr. Chi, 5 days ago, while working in the field, his son discovered a yellow eel being brought ashore by the tiller.

“Seeing the beautiful golden eel, my son and I gathered around to catch it and brought it home. We were so happy that we forgot the tiller in the field. It’s been a long time since I was a child and I’ve seen an eel with such a golden color…”, Mr. Chi said, adding that a trader had priced the eel at 50 million VND, but his family had not yet sold it.

The information quickly spread, causing hundreds of people to flock to Mr. Chi's house to see this rare eel. According to observations, this yellow eel weighed 800g, was nearly 90cm long, and had a diameter of 11cm.

Traders in Saigon priced this eel at 50 million but Mr. Chi has not sold it yet.

Previously, Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Loan (residing in Hieu Thanh commune, Vung Liem district, Vinh Long province) while working in the field also caught a yellow eel weighing more than 600 grams.

Recently, people in the West have also caught perch and yellow catfish that are yellow in color and have been asked to buy at very high prices.

According to medical experts, yellow eel has the effect of treating diabetes and enhancing memory, is a nutritious food for people with high blood sugar and mental workers.
