(Baonghean.vn) - Foxsport, the online magazine of the renowned Asian sports channel, has released its top 11 players in a 4-3-2 formation after the group stage of the 2016 AFF Cup. Notably, Vietnam's striker Le Cong Vinh was not included, replaced instead by young Cambodian striker Chan Vathanaka.

The ideal team after the group stage of the 2016 AFF Cup, as assessed by Foxsports.

Goalkeeper Hassan Sunny (Singapore)

Despite not helping the Singapore national team advance beyond the group stage and conceding three goals, goalkeeper Hassan Sunny was still considered the best player. None of the three goals conceded were his fault. In particular, two of those goals resulted from serious defensive errors in the match against Indonesia. Otherwise, his performance and reflexes impressed the other coaches.

Right-back Tristan Do (Thailand)

Recalled by coach Kiatisuck, the Vietnamese-born defender performed exceptionally well in the three matches against Indonesia, Singapore, and the Philippines. The 23-year-old star, born in Paris (France), is highly regarded for his contributions to both attack and defense. His contribution was significant in Thailand's achievement of conceding only two goals in the group stage.

Central defenders Que Ngoc Hai (Vietnam) and Zaw Min Tun (Myanmar)

Foxsports reporters used the word "perfect" to describe the performance of the Vietnamese national team's center-back in the group stage. Que Ngoc Hai's presence at the heart of Vietnam's defense gave his teammates further up the field complete peace of mind. Beyond his ability to read the game, provide cover, and intercept, he was also the most active player in the Vietnamese team with 164 passes to his teammates. In the match against Cambodia, his effectiveness in drifting to the wing to support Van Hoan in the first 10 minutes was highly praised by Foxsports.

It wasn't Mohana of the Singapore national team, but the 24-year-old Myanmar center-back who was chosen. Not only does he perform well defensively, Seo Min Tun also demonstrates excellent goal-scoring ability. He has scored 2 goals in 3 matches, just one goal behind the current top scorer, Teerasil Dangda. The Yangon United defender is also highly regarded for his crucial interceptions.

Left-back Vu Van Thanh (Vietnam)

In the group stage, the HAGL defender played in all three matches and was quite effective in supporting the attack with 162 passes, second only to Que Ngoc Hai. Van Thanh possesses skillful technique, the ability to contain the attack, and speed, making him the first choice of coach Nguyen Huu Thang on the left flank. Although he often pushes forward, he rarely abandons his position when defending. According to Foxsports, Van Thanh will improve even further in the near future.

Midfielders: Chanathip Songkrasin (Thailand), Stefano Lilipaly (Indonesia), Nguyen Trong Hoang (Vietnam)

In the optimal 4-3-3 formation, Thailand's diminutive but versatile midfielder is positioned on the right wing. In matches against Indonesia and Singapore, the player dubbed "Thai Messi" has repeatedly troubled opposing defenders. In the other two positions, Stefano is a crucial link in Indonesia's attacks, and he was also the one who scored the winning goal in the 2-1 victory against Singapore, securing his team's place in the semi-finals.

Thanks to his goal against Malaysia, an assist, and 154 passes, Trong Hoang was a crucial factor in the effective functioning of the Vietnamese national team's midfield. According to statistics, the midfielder born in 1989 was the player with the most interceptions for the Vietnamese national team.

Forwards: Aung Thu (Myanmar), Chan Vathanaka (Cambodia), Boaz Solasso (Indonesia)

Despite being only 20 years old, striker Aung Thu is the spearhead of the Myanmar national team's attack. After 3 group stage matches, he has scored 2 goals, including one against Vietnam and one against Cambodia.

Cambodian striker Chan Vathanaka is one of the most impressive players at the 2016 AFF Cup, known for his speed, agility, and versatile finishing. He was the reason Dinh Luat received a red card in their recent encounter. According to Foxsport, Chan Vathanaka deserved to stay in the AFF Cup longer.

Besides Cong Vinh, this ideal team lineup is also missing Teerasil Dangda (Thailand). Instead, it includes striker Boaz Solasso with 2 goals after the qualifying round. These two goals were scored against Thailand and the Philippines, helping coach Alfred Reidl's team secure a place in the semi-finals.
