In general, the awareness, understanding and sense of law compliance of officials and people in border and coastal areas and officers and soldiers on islands have been raised. The situation of law violations and violations of regulations and rules has decreased compared to before the implementation of the Project. According to statistics, in the first 9 months of 2014, in the 61 border communes and wards, there were 283 cases/375 subjects; in the first 9 months of 2016, there were 218 cases/285 subjects; a decrease of 65 cases, 90 subjects.

Citizens’ awareness and responsibility in participating in protecting border and island sovereignty have changed a lot. Coastal border communes and wards have established 101 self-management teams for security and order, 158 mediation teams, 79 villages and hamlets have registered to participate in self-management of 287 km of border line and 48 border markers.

From 2014 to present, people have provided the authorities with 2,603 ​​sources of information to serve the fight against crime; voluntarily surrendered 420 guns of various types.

At the conference, delegates focused on discussing achievements and shortcomings, analyzing the causes of problems and limitations, and presenting some lessons learned in the process of implementing the Project.

Concluding the conference, comrade Le Xuan Dai - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that in the coming time, agencies and units need to focus on replicating good models, creative and effective methods to disseminate laws close to the practical life of people in border and coastal areas.
