While many friends went to the South and North to find work, Mr. Thong stayed in his hometown to develop his family's traditional shrimp farming profession and get rich right on his homeland. In early 2004, he borrowed capital, designed and built a 1,000m2 fish tank.2divided into 30 tanks, total investment capital 700 million VND, applying the farming process according to microbiological method.

Although he had experience in shrimp farming, when he started his farm, he encountered many difficulties due to shrimp diseases. The first batches of shrimp were not of good quality, so the efficiency was not high, leading to losses. However, he did not give up, he continued to visit reputable shrimp farms in the southern provinces to learn more experience in care and disease prevention.

Mr. Thong's shrimp farm always produces healthy shrimp.

Thanks to the application of the process of producing high-quality black tiger shrimp seeds, bringing in an annual income of 600-800 million, Mr. Hoang Van Thong is called the "king" of shrimp seeds by shrimp farmers in Quynh Bang commune.

“We not only provide healthy shrimp to farmers, but also make sure that when the shrimp are put in the farmers’ ponds, they still grow well, not just sell them and that’s it. Only when the shrimp are healthy and have a good harvest will farmers trust us and come back to us,” Thong shared.

Reality shows that market demand is gradually changing, consumers are starting to look for safe products. To make sustainable wealth from shrimp, farmers must change their perspective, must meet what the market needs, not just provide the market with what they have.

Therefore, Mr. Thong especially prioritizes shrimp farming using biotechnology, using biological products instead of antibiotics... "I started using biological products, using microorganisms to raise shrimp larvae, not using antibiotics to stimulate shrimp reproduction at all costs", Mr. Thong shared.

In recent years, Mr. Thong has also been raising crabs. His Thong Tin Aquaculture Farm has created stable jobs for 5 workers in the area, with an income of 5 million VND/month. Not stopping there, he has continued to renovate and invest in equipment to upgrade the shrimp farm.

With many years of success, his seed farm has become a place for farmers in the area to visit and learn. Mr. Thong is always ready to pass on his experience to everyone to implement and expand the scale of production, thereby having an increasingly better economic life.
