Nghe An Tax Department: Diversifying forms of support for taxpayers.

(Baonghean) - Effectiveness in combating budget revenue losses, promoting administrative reform, and successfully carrying out propaganda and support for taxpayers are the outstanding results of the Nghe An Tax Department in 2016. This was the assessment of Comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, at the working session with the Nghe An Tax Department.

Taxpayer awareness and support is a crucial function in enhancing taxpayers' compliance with tax laws, both individually and within the community, reducing unintentional tax violations, and assisting taxpayers in their production and business activities. This work is becoming increasingly effective with many practical approaches.

At the annual tax work implementation conference (January 2016), the Nghe An Tax Department proposed the solution: "Continue to vigorously promote and support taxpayers using modern methods, ensuring diverse and rich forms and content, paying attention to tax administrative procedure reform, tax management for business households, new tax policies, etc. Improve the quality of organizing dialogue conferences with taxpayers and address their concerns during and after the conferences."

To promptly support businesses in understanding and applying new tax policies effective in 2016, the Nghe An Tax Department has vigorously implemented taxpayer support and awareness campaigns through various forms such as: television, radio, and print media; direct consultations; telephone consultations; training sessions; dialogues with taxpayers; written responses; email responses; online interactions via the electronic portal; video clips of tax policy lectures; guidance on tax administrative procedures via social media platforms like Facebook and YouTube; and continuously sending new documents to businesses via email.

The tax sector promptly addresses and resolves emerging issues, receiving support and high praise from the business community and public opinion, contributing to the effective implementation of tax policies. The hotline continues to be maintained to directly answer taxpayers' questions. The processing of tax returns and other tax procedures is carried out at the one-stop service center, facilitating convenience, reducing costs, and saving taxpayers time through efficient procedures and timely delivery of results.

Since the beginning of the year, the Nghe An Tax Department has organized 52 training courses on some amendments and additions to new tax policies and business dialogues in the area, with more than 10,200 participants. Each dialogue organized by the Tax Department has attracted a large number of businesses due to its practicality and effectiveness.

The department has collaborated with press and television agencies to maintain a monthly "Q&A on Tax Policy" segment on the "Law and Life" section of Nghe An Radio and Television Station, with two installments per month. They have also effectively implemented a "Understanding Tax Policy" Q&A segment published in the Nghe An daily newspaper and the Nghe An online newspaper, with four installments per month on Thursdays. This is a truly useful information channel that has received significant attention and high praise from officials and Party members in Party branches and committees throughout the province.

The department has produced reports, news coverage, and disseminated guidance on new tax policies, broadcasting them on television 82 times; radio 616 times; newspapers, magazines, and newsletters 88 times; and posting information on the Tax Department's website 794 times regarding tax department activities, tax policy dissemination, and announcements; and maintaining the publication of lists of businesses with large tax arrears...

In addition, the Tax Department and its branches also apply methods appropriate to each locality and specific target group, such as: slogans, banners... to publicize each event; using public tax notices, leaflets, etc.

Another effective activity is that since the beginning of the year, we have provided direct support at the Tax office for over 1,700 instances; support via telephone for over 2,100 instances; and responded to 196 written documents, ...

The Tax Department, in coordination with Nghe An University of Economics, successfully organized the competition on understanding tax policies and laws; advised the Provincial People's Committee to successfully organize the meeting of businesses with outstanding tax payment achievements in 2015 and the meeting to commend investors and businesses with outstanding tax payment achievements in 2015 - this activity was highly appreciated by the business community, departments, agencies and provincial leaders.
