Regarding the forecast that by 2020, the whole country will have a surplus of about 70,000 teachers, according to Minister Phung Xuan Nha, there are many solutions to the problem of teacher training, including fundamental solutions and situational solutions.

The first fundamental solution is to re-plan schools, to make supply and demand match. Next is a series of solutions to improve quality, ensure the quality of schools and industries, including ensuring the quality of teachers, facilities, finance and especially management... In particular, it must be linked to the labor market and must have labor market forecasts.

However, planning and forecasting the labor market have not been done well and are not synchronized. “I think a large part of the responsibility here lies with the industry; we already have a forecasting center, but we must do better in the future,” Minister Phung Xuan Nha affirmed.

Currently, the country has 114 units and establishments training in the field of pedagogy, even multidisciplinary schools participating in pedagogical training. Affirming that teachers are a very important issue, not only at the university level but also from preschool level and above, because these are the levels of education from childhood, and if teachers are not properly trained, it is very dangerous, the Minister said that the Ministry has solutions and has been facilitated by the Government and the National Assembly to review teacher standards and improve the quality of lecturers at schools from preschool to university.

Sharing the concerns of National Assembly deputies about the situation of university graduates not having jobs, Minister Phung Xuan Nha said that one of the goals and requirements for universities is to train graduates to have jobs, but in reality, not all graduates can find jobs immediately, but need time and practical experience to adapt.

However, the Minister also stated that knowledge in school is extremely important, helping students not to waste time on retraining after graduation. “Retraining is a waste not only of money and time, but also very dangerous when students are trained in things they do not like, and now they have to learn new things, which is very difficult for students to meet. We are very aware of that,” said Minister Phung Xuan Nha.

Currently, there are about 300 thousand students graduating each year. According to university statistics, about 80% of graduates have jobs, so there are about 60 thousand students who are unemployed. The number of students who have jobs right after graduation falls into the top schools, while the majority of students who do not have jobs or are unemployed fall into low-quality schools, most of which are newly established schools.

Realizing this reality, the Minister said that in the near future, the Ministry of Education and Training will adjust schools, apply standards to schools and industries, so that newly opened schools or schools with poor quality will be supported, for example, they can become member schools of major universities.

Responding to the question about the situation of extra teaching and learning, Minister Phung Xuan Nha admitted that the problem of extra teaching and learning has potential and is distorted. The responsibility of the Minister is to supervise. It is important to review unnecessary content to make the program lighter and lighter, not to remove it, but to coordinate with localities to rectify extra teaching and learning...

The delegate asked: What is the Minister's opinion on this issue and solutions in the coming time?

In addition, the delegate also pointed out that for a long time, our country's experts have had views on developing education and training according to two models, which are mass education and elite university education. So what is the Minister's view on this issue?
