Lach Van fishing port is full of garbage
(Baonghean.vn) - Lach Van Port (Dien Ngoc) is being seriously polluted due to the large amount of domestic and production waste discharged.
According to observations, the road to the fishing port connecting Dong Loc, Yen Thinh, Hai Ly hamlets of Dien Ngoc is heavily polluted. On one side of the road, there are a lot of stinking shells, snails, and mussels, while the other side of the road is full of construction materials.
Not only on the road but also under the water surface, there is a lot of garbage and household waste piled up at the foot of the steps from the sea to the fishing port. In particular, the water in the mangrove forest near the fishing port has turned dark green and has a strong smell due to the excessive amount of waste.

Even construction materials are brazenly dumped on the side of the road. |
Ms. Nguyen Thi Van in Dong Loc hamlet was upset: “My house is located right next to this “spontaneous” garbage dump, so every day I have to live with the stench. The house has to be built facing inward and does not dare to face the street because of the garbage…”.

Some people still use water from the sea even though they are surrounded by garbage. |
Mr. Hoang Van Thuong, Hai Ly hamlet said: "The reason is due to the awareness of people living near the fishing port. In addition, the port management board has not thoroughly grasped and handled violations, so the amount of garbage increases every day."

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Van Dung - Vice Chairman of Dien Ngoc People's Committee said: The large amount of garbage in the fishing port area has made the government and people very worried. The commune has also worked with the port management board and related organizations to find a solution. Currently, households have to contribute 200,000 VND/year for sanitation workers to handle waste that pollutes the environment.
In the immediate future, the commune has signed a contract with Dien Chau Green Environment Company to bring waste to Nghi Yen landfill for treatment and at the same time propagate and mobilize people to have higher awareness in waste treatment, especially household waste./.
