Arresting a group of dog thieves who beat and seriously injured the person chasing them

While stealing dogs, two young men were discovered and chased by local people, so they invited their accomplices to bring electric guns to take revenge and seriously injured the pursuers.

On December 9, Hoc Mon District Police (HCMC) temporarily detained Huynh Tran Minh Tuyen, Do Van Phong, Nguyen Sinh Go and Tran Tuan Tai (aged 19 to 23, all residing in Hoc Mon District) to investigate the act of Intentional Infliction of Injury. This group was arrested after more than a month of being investigated by the authorities.

According to the investigation, at the end of October this year, Phong and Tuyen rode a motorbike carrying an electric shock kit and a stun gun to Hamlet 2 (Xuan Thoi Thuong Commune, Hoc Mon District) to find dogs to steal. While shooting the dogs, the two were chased by Tran Hong Phuc (23 years old) and other residents. Phuc threw a glass cup while chasing the thief.

Although the glass did not hit anyone, the two dog thieves were determined to find Phuc and take revenge. Phong, Tuyen invited Go and Tai to bring a bamboo stick with a sharp metal bar used to catch dogs and an electric gun to find Phuc.

When he encountered the dog thieves again, Phuc abandoned his motorbike and ran away. Phong and Tuyen chased him but were unsuccessful, so they turned around and smashed Phuc's motorbike. Seeing this, Mr. Tran Van Lap (56 years old, Phuc's father) rushed in to stop them but was stabbed in the chest with a bamboo stick by the group. After committing the crime, the group got on the motorbike and fled.

Mr. Lap was seriously stabbed, lost a lot of blood and was taken to the emergency room by locals. After more than a month of treatment at Hospital 115, forensic examination results showed that Mr. Lap had a disability rate of 62%.

Through investigation, the police caught the group hiding locally.
