3 orphans need community help

(Baonghean.vn) - In recent days, an atmosphere of sadness and grief has filled the dilapidated thatched house of Vi Van Sinh (14 years old), Vi Thi Linh (10 years old) and Kha Hai Dang (13 months old) in Tan Huong village, Yen Khe commune (Con Cuong) as they have just lost the warmth of their mother forever.

The children's grandmother, Lang Thi Binh, sat quietly, unable to hide her tears from the painful events of her family. She said: Her daughter, Kha Thi Kim, got married and had two children, Sinh and Linh, but her husband left without a trace, almost 8 years ago.

In 2015, Kim gave birth to a son, Kha Hai Dang, with another man. Dang is now only 13 months old and has never known his father. Meanwhile, Kim was sick and suffered from glomerulonephritis. Because her family was poor and could not afford medical treatment, her health gradually deteriorated and she passed away in early November.

Currently, the three children are being cared for by their grandmother, but this year Mrs. Binh is over 60 years old. The family's life depends mainly on 3 sao of rice fields, so they are always in poverty. She is worried to the point of heartache when thinking about her grandchildren who are at the age of eating and studying, with the current situation, her grandchildren may have to drop out of school.

Currently, Linh is in grade 4, Sinh is in grade 7, although their family circumstances are very difficult, they are very studious and good students. Vi Van Sinh shared: Before, when I went to school, my mother took care of me, I really wanted to go to school but now that my mother has passed away, my two younger siblings and I are living with my grandmother, she is old and weak so I have to go back to school without anyone to help her. I love my grandmother and my younger siblings very much, I will probably have to quit school to stay home and help my grandmother.

What's even more heartbreaking is that Dang is only 13 months old. Many times, because he lacks breast milk, he cries all night long. The old, dilapidated thatched house is no longer able to withstand storms...

The pitiful situation of the three orphans needs the sharing and help of kind-hearted people near and far so that the children can have the conditions to go to school.
