Tuong Duong voters: Proposal to increase forest environmental service costs

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of November 29, National Assembly delegates of Nghe An province, term XIV, including Mr. Le Quang Huy, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Huu Cau - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Director of the Provincial Police Department, had a meeting with voters of Tam Quang, Tam Dinh, Tam Thai, Tam Hop, Thach Giam, Luu Kieu, Luong Minh communes of Tuong Duong district.

Also participating were representatives from the Department of Transport, Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Department of Natural Resources and Environment; leaders of the District Party Committee, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Tuong Duong district.

At the meeting, after listening to the provincial National Assembly representative report on the results of the 2nd session of the 14th National Assembly, and the activities of the Nghe An National Assembly delegation at the session, voters expressed their trust and high agreement with the innovations of the National Assembly and the Government; and at the same time proposed many issues of concern.

Voter Kha Van Thong, Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Xa Luong commune, mentioned the policy of payment for forest environmental services. According to this voter, payment for forest environmental services according to Decision 99 of the Government is a new policy but the implementation process has encountered many difficulties and complications.

Also related to this issue, voter Nguyen Huu Tuc reflected that the payment service is low, while the procedures for making documents to receive support are too cumbersome and complicated.

Voters in Tuong Duong proposed that the Government increase payments for forest environmental services to motivate people and create leverage to achieve good results in forest protection.

Voter Dau The Mao made a recommendation on the organization of the commune-level government apparatus.

At the conference, voters also proposed a number of issues such as: investing more in agriculture, farmers, and rural areas; increasing allowances for hamlet officials and commune police. Proposing to transfer revenue and expenditure of the natural disaster prevention and control fund to cooperatives; timely compensation for irrigation fees; timely implementation of cooperative support policies; not increasing the retirement age; some criteria for assessing poor households are still unreasonable; lowering the age of receiving subsidies for the elderly to 75 years old.
