Jet Li retires from film, may become a monk.
Chinese media reports that Jet Li is preparing to retire, having made all necessary arrangements for his family so that he can peacefully seek refuge in Buddhism.
According to 163, during this time, Jet Li mainly lived in a temple. Besides offering incense and praying to Buddha, the 53-year-old actor also lived and chanted scriptures like a Buddhist monk.
Many Chinese news outlets reported that Jet Li had expressed his intention to become a monk and seek refuge in Buddhism.

"This intention has been around for many years and is now about to become a reality. Jet Li once wanted to leave the entertainment industry early, but he postponed it because he listened to the advice of a high-ranking monk. That monk hoped that with his fame, Jet Li could spread good intentions to people," a source shared on 163.com.
Accordingly, Jet Li intends to make a documentary film about Buddhism as a tribute to cinema and religion. Thus, the final film in this star's film career was - *The Investiture of the Gods*. Unfortunately, this was also a disastrous film. Jet Li initially refused to participate but later changed his mind out of gratitude to film mogul Xiang Huaqiang.
News reports indicate that the actor is spending time practicing the Phowa (Transposition of Consciousness) meditation technique. "At the highest level, the practice can be fatal, but Jet Li is no longer afraid of death," a source shared.
The news that Jet Li intends to become a monk did not surprise many people.
Over the years, the King of Kung Fu has always been devoted to Buddhism. In April, he visited a temple on Mount Wutai to celebrate his 53rd birthday. On June 14th, Jet Li walked to a temple on Mount Jiuhua to pray for blessings.
The actor's family said that because he had been a vegetarian for many years, he didn't pay attention to online rumors, including speculation about his health.
"Every time I go to the temple, I feel calm and peaceful. In the past, I used to enjoy parties with friends. Now that I'm older, I no longer crave the hustle and bustle," he said.
The Kung Fu star admitted that thanks to reading Buddhist scriptures, practicing Qigong, and following a vegetarian diet, his health has shown signs of improvement recently.

Recalling the time in 1979 when Jet Li and his friends went to Shaolin Temple to film, he was once told by the abbot, "This person has a strong connection with Buddhism," the high-ranking monk said.
It wasn't until 1997, after experiencing many ups and downs in life, that he truly grasped the essence of life.
"I always wanted to ask myself, what is the ultimate meaning of life? What have I been working for all these years? Fame and money, but none of that satisfied me. I realized that money doesn't bring happiness, and neither do desires. From then on, I became a Buddhist, exploring life, materialism, and spirituality, and I found peace," he shared.
The actor has even made arrangements for his funeral. "I've spoken to my wife about what will happen after I die. If that day truly comes, please take me to a temple in Tibet for cremation and burial there. My wish is for the abbot to leave his inscription on my tombstone," he said in an interview earlier this year.
