Below is the content of the Prime Minister's letter of commendation:
I was deeply moved to hear that on December 13, 2016, with courage, responsibility and deep humanity, the teachers of An Hiep Kindergarten and local people rescued and protected the students to absolute safety while the flood came quickly, causing serious flooding at the school. I was deeply moved by the teachers' thoughts: "I would rather die than let my students die". On behalf of the Government, I would like to commend and praise the teachers of An Hiep Kindergarten and local people who participated in rescuing the students.
On this occasion, I request local authorities in the areas recently affected by floods to urgently take appropriate measures to overcome the damage and soon stabilize the education of children, including An Hiep Kindergarten.
I also request the People's Committee of Phu Yen province and the Ministry of Education and Training to direct a review in Phu Yen province as well as nationwide for schools, especially kindergartens, to proactively take necessary measures to prevent, avoid and rescue, to ensure absolute safety for children when natural disasters and heavy rains and floods occur.
Best regards,
Nguyen Xuan Phuc
