Donald Trump also said he is looking to bring his eldest daughter Ivanka Trump and son-in-law Jared Kushner into the administration.

The US President-elect explained that it would be difficult to let Barron stay home from school at this time, as the school year is still a few months away. "So Melania will be going back and forth between the two places for the first few months," he said.

Journalist Wallace asked: "Do you feel lonely in the White House?". Trump replied: "No, I have to work. It's a very special place and it represents many things. There's a lot to do, more than I thought."

"There's a lot of work we need to do to make America great again," the president-elect repeated his campaign slogan. "I'm going to do it, and I'm not alone."

Trump said his transition team is still figuring out how to give Ivanka and Jared Kushner a role in the administration.

"We'll see how to do it legally," Trump added. Currently, the US has laws related to nepotism.

Trump said his son-in-law is extremely talented. "I want Jared to help solve important national problems. Let's see if we can create peace in the Middle East and many other things."
