Launching of UPU international letter writing competition

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 5, at Trung Do Secondary School (Vinh City), the Department of Information and Communications, the Department of Education and Training in coordination with the Provincial Post Office organized the launching ceremony of the 46th UPU International Letter Writing Competition 2017.

The International Letter Writing Competition is organized by the Universal Postal Union (UPU). This year, the topic given to all secondary school students is: Imagine you are an advisor to the new Secretary-General of the United Nations; which world issue would you help him tackle first and how would you advise him to solve it?

Mr. Ho Quang Thanh - Director of the Department of Information and Communications presented the contest rules to the representative of Trung Do Secondary School.

The UPU letter writing competition is launched and widely implemented to enhance friendship and understanding among nations. Thereby, raising awareness among students about global issues, giving teenagers the opportunity to express themselves with their dreams and ambitions for the future, encouraging them to have unique ideas and know how to present ideas convincingly.

At the same time, help students understand more about the role of the Postal industry in life and social development.

Overview of the launching ceremony.

The contest is launched from October 14, 2016 to February 20, 2017 for Vietnamese students aged 15 and under. Entries must be under 1,000 words and sent via post to the Young Pioneer newspaper.

The official prize winner will be recognized as a National Excellent Student in Literature.
