Russia and China cooperate in training paratroopers

(Baonghean.vn) - On December 13, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that a delegation of the Russian Airborne Forces (VDV) headed by Major General Anatoly (Ryazan Airborne Command School) came to China to study and cooperate on the training model of paratrooper officer academies of the Chinese People's Army (PLA).

The paratroopers are an elite force, capable of rapid combat, creating an element of surprise when attacking deep into enemy bases. They are a well-trained force, capable of responding flexibly to any situation that arises.

The Ryazan Airborne Command School is the birthplace of elite generations of Russian airborne commanders. Russian airborne troops have high mobility, reaching over 70km/h, and very strong attack and firepower, as soon as they land. The airborne troops have received a series of state-of-the-art weapons including: Ratnik combat uniforms, upgraded artillery and missile systems as well as new sniper rifles, assault rifles and other light weapons. Unmanned aerial vehicles for the airborne troops are also being developed.

Russian military experts assess that the Chinese military's combat model has fundamentally adjusted from internal defense to external attack, in which the airborne troops of the air force are given special importance.

Currently, the Chinese army has changed the training curriculum for airborne troops to conduct raids behind and in front of enemy formations, either to land attacks or to land support, or to fight in China or to move to battlefields outside the territory, or to attack key points, or to deploy troops for defense.

On the other hand, in recent years, Beijing has increasingly invested money in developing heavy military transport aircraft, and purchased more Russian IL-76 military transport aircraft to increase its amphibious combat capabilities.
