Revealing the cost of building Trump's new Air Force One

Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenburg said the cost of building Air Force One for the US President will be under $4 billion.

Mr. Muilenburg said so after meeting with the US President-elect in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, Sputnik reported. President-elect Donald Trump had a meeting with CEOs of a number of defense and space companies after he criticized the contracts these companies signed with the government.

"We can build Air Force One for less than $4 billion and we are committed to that. I can represent Boeing to assure the President-elect that," Mr. Muilenburg was quoted by Seattle's Komo News as saying.

On December 6, Donald Trump announced that he might cancel the order for the new Air Force One because the price of 4 billion USD proposed by Boeing was ridiculously high. US media reported that the US Air Force planned to spend 1.65 billion USD on this project.

Boeing has not yet started building the plane, but once the requirements and costs are finalized, the company will launch the project immediately, Mr. Muilenburg said.
