According to publicly available information, the UDM naval mine produced by Factory X28 can destroy targets at a maximum depth of up to 125 m.

The Vietnam People's Navy recently displayed and introduced two new types of naval mines produced by Factory X28.
Đầu tiên là thuỷ lôi KMP. Đây là loại vũ khí phòng chống các phương tiện đổ bộ đường biển, đường sông, trong luồng lạch hẹp, có độ sâu đến 20m.
First is the KMP naval mine. This is a weapon used to counter amphibious landing craft in narrow waterways and channels up to 20 meters deep.
Thuỷ lôi KMP hoạt động theo nguyên tắc chạm nổ, tự động định sâu, sử dụng nhiều phương tiện thả có độ cao đến 1,5m. Thuỷ lôi đã được nghiệm thu trên bờ và trên biển năm 2013 đạt kết quả tốt.
The KMP naval mine operates on the principle of contact detonation, with automatic depth setting, and can be deployed from various platforms to heights up to 1.5m. The mine was successfully tested onshore and at sea in 2013.

The KMP naval mine was manufactured by Factory X28, Naval Engineering Department; it was approved by the Ministry of National Defense Council in 2014 with good results.
Thủy lôi thứ 2 được giới thiệu là UĐM. Đây là loại thuỷ lôi không chạm nổ, được thả trong chướng ngại thuỷ lôi phòng thủ để tiêu diệt các loại tàu mặt nước của địch ở độ sâu từ 12 – 50m và tàu ngầm ở độ sâu đến 125m.
The second type of mine introduced was the UDM. This is a non-contact mine, deployed in defensive minefields to destroy enemy surface ships at depths of 12-50m and submarines at depths up to 125m.
UĐM được thả từ tàu mặt nước hoặc máy bay. Năm 2014, thuỷ lôi được nghiệm thu thả, thử nổ trên biển đạt kết quả tốt, các thông số đều tương đương với thuỷ lôi do Liên Xô sản xuất.
The mines are deployed from surface ships or aircraft. In 2014, the mines were successfully tested and detonated at sea, with parameters comparable to those produced by the Soviet Union.
Thuỷ lôi UĐM cũng do Nhà máy X28, Cục Kỹ thuật Quân chủng Hải quân sản xuất. Là loại vũ khí cực kỳ lợi hại trong nhiệm vụ phòng thủ và tấn công đường thủy, nhưng để bố trí thủy lôi trên một vùng biển dài, rộng, nơi tàu ngầm, tàu chiến mặt nước địch có thể xuất hiện đi qua thì cần trí tuệ cao, kinh nghiệm chiến trận dày dạn.
The UDM naval mine was also manufactured by Factory X28, Naval Engineering Department. It is an extremely potent weapon for both defensive and offensive naval operations, but deploying it over a long, wide stretch of sea where enemy submarines and surface warships may appear and pass through requires high intelligence and extensive combat experience.
Đặc biệt, một khi chưa có tàu ngầm thì việc sử dụng thủy lôi để phong tỏa các con đường hàng hải của đối phương, cầu tàu bến cảng đối phương sẽ gặp vô vàn khó khăn hoặc sẽ không còn yếu tố bí mật như khi phải dùng máy bay để rải thủy lôi thì hiệu quả sẽ thấp và không an toàn.
