The first Vietnamese person to be appointed as an Academician of the French Academy of Medicine

Professor - Doctor Pham Van Thuc, People's Teacher, Principal of Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy was honored to receive the title of Academician of the French National Academy of Medicine. The ceremony took place solemnly at the headquarters of the French National Academy of Medicine on December 20, in Paris.

On this occasion, the President, Secretary General and key members of the French National Academy of Medicine awarded certificates to 25 new members who were officially elected in 2016 under the witness of Ambassadors and representatives of embassies of countries whose scientists were awarded this noble title.

The French National Academy of Medicine currently has nearly 500 members who are leading international scientists in various fields of medicine, of which 180 members are foreigners.

To date, Professor-Doctor Pham Van Thuc is the first and only Vietnamese academician to be awarded this title at the French National Academy of Medicine.

Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy, with nearly 40 years of construction and development, has achieved outstanding achievements in training and scientific research in Medicine and Pharmacy, becoming one of the prestigious training and research institutions in the country and internationally, contributing to training medical human resources for the whole country and implementing many national-level scientific research topics.

The school has also cooperated in exchanging lecturers, training and research experts with over 60 medical training and research institutions on five continents, and is a member of many prestigious scientific and professional associations in the world in the field of medicine.

Many professors from other countries have also become honorary professors of the school and many professors of the school have also received honorary professor titles from universities around the world.

Among them, Professor, Doctor Pham Van Thuc is also a member of many prestigious scientific associations in the world and has been honored to be awarded the title of Honorary Professor by many universities around the world.

In particular, in 2015, Professor, Doctor Pham Van Thuc was introduced as a candidate for the position of Academician of the French National Academy of Medicine and was officially elected as an Academician on March 29./.
