No sunglasses

Many people think that wearing sunglasses is just for summer, or just for fashion purposes. But wearing them in the winter can be even more important because of the sunlight reflecting off the snow. Not wearing sunglasses to protect against UV rays can cause corneal burns, skin cancer on the eyelids, etc.

Buy eye drops to use yourself

If your eyes are constantly red or irritated, it is important to have your eyes checked by an eye doctor, not to self-medicate with eye drops. Eye drops contain preservatives and other chemicals that can make eye problems even worse in the long run.

Using expired eye drops

Artificial tears and prescription eye drops have expiration dates and using these eye drops past the expiration date increases your risk of keratitis.

Eyeliner too close to the eyelid

When you put eyeliner inside your eye, you are mixing the eyeliner color with your tears. Makeup particles can also carry germs, which can cause infection.

Touch and rub eyes

Itchy eyes and rubbing or rubbing them may help relieve the itch. However, rubbing your eyes can also lead to broken blood vessels and inflammation.

Another reason is that your eyes are protected by mucous membranes – moist tissue that can easily collect germs and is a great place for bacteria to grow. If you shake someone's hand and then rub your eyes, you're transferring germs to yourself.
