Rewarding 186 collectives and individuals for successfully organizing the 9th National Phu Dong Sports Festival

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 17, in Vinh City, the Ministry of Education and Training coordinated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize the 9th National Phu Dong Sports Festival (HKPĐ) Summary Conference in 2016.

Attending were comrade Nguyen Thi Nghia - Deputy Minister of Education and Training, Head of the Steering Committee of the 9th National Sports Festival; Vu Trong Ho - Director of the Department of High Performance Sports - Ministry of Culture - Sports and Tourism; delegates from Thanh Hoa, Phu Tho, Nam Dinh, Binh Duong, Can Tho provinces.

On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrade Le Minh Thong - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and a number of relevant departments, branches and sectors.

The 9th National Phu Dong Sports Festival had the participation of nearly 15,000 athletes, competing in 15 sports, competing for more than 500 sets of medals. The athletes competed with all their might in the spirit of solidarity, honesty, and nobility.

Many talented student athletes have achieved good results in competitions. The organization, competition, facilities, equipment and conditions have been carefully prepared by the provinces of Phu Tho, Nam Dinh, Thanh Hoa, Binh Duong, Can Tho city (the regional HKPĐ hosts) and the two provinces of Nghe An and Thanh Hoa (the co-hosts of the national HKPĐ).

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Deputy Minister Tran Thi Nghia thanked the attention of the Party, National Assembly, Government, ministries and branches for creating favorable conditions for the Education sector to organize the 9th Phu Dong Sports Festival. In addition, she highly appreciated the efforts of localities in the preparation work, especially in the context of limited budget and many difficulties in sports facilities in provinces and cities.

At the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Minh Thong also thanked the Government, central departments and branches and the coordination of neighboring provinces for helping the National Phu Dong Sports Festival become a great success.

The successful organization of the National Sports Festival has significantly contributed to improving the health of students; enriching cultural and spiritual life, and helping to eliminate social evils from schools. This is also an opportunity to discover and nurture talents in the field of sports for localities, industries and the country.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Education and Training awarded Certificates of Merit to 49 groups and 137 individuals who had outstanding achievements in organizing the Phu Dong Sports Festival./.
