Ensuring harmony of interests between FDI enterprises and workers

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 21, Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation held a meeting with the Presidents of the trade unions of FDI enterprises in the province in 2016.

Attending the event were Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of a number of relevant departments, branches and representatives of 18 FDI enterprises in the province.

In 2016, the number of FDI enterprises with trade unions in Nghe An increased from 15 to 18 with nearly 18,500 union members. During the year, the trade unions of enterprises organized many outstanding activities such as raising funds to help workers in difficulty in the company, organizing sports activities, giving gifts on holidays, organizing Mid-Autumn Festival, Children's Day for children, etc.

On the side of the Provincial Labor Federation, during the year, it resolved and supported 10 recommendations from FDI enterprises, focusing mainly on issues such as ensuring food hygiene and safety, overcoming infrastructure problems, legal support, health insurance, and supporting issues of ensuring a social environment for business development.

At the conference, representatives of the trade unions of enterprises also shared about the difficulties and advantages in the current operations of the units. In the spirit of frank exchange, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee and the provincial Social Insurance agencies, the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, and the Southeast Economic Zone answered the questions of the units.

Notable issues include providing adequate electricity and clean water for workers, speeding up the processing of paperwork, ensuring workers' social insurance policies and regimes, supporting vocational training improvement, and checking food hygiene and safety, etc.

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Huynh Thanh Dien highly appreciated the contributions of FDI enterprises to the socio-economic development of Nghe An province, and acknowledged the role of the Provincial Federation of Labor in supporting grassroots unions in building labor relations at enterprises, contributing to improving the province's investment environment.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that in the coming time, the Provincial Federation of Labor and business unions need to continue to make efforts to ensure the rights and benefits of workers in accordance with regulations, and at the same time must be a bridge between workers and business owners to ensure the harmony of interests of all parties.

On the province side, we will continue to listen to recommendations and make appropriate adjustments to support businesses in their operations. Comrade Huynh Thanh Dien also requested relevant departments and branches to promptly consider and resolve difficulties of units, pay attention to issues such as social housing, schools, policies... in accordance with the law.
