As we know, the J50 is a supercar created to celebrate Ferrari's 50th anniversary of entering the Japanese market. When asked by reporters about the meaning of the name "J50", Mr. Enriko Galliera, Vice President of Ferrari's Trade and Sales Department, affirmed: "I think this name is simple and easy to remember, and at the same time fully expresses the meaning of the car's birth. The letter 'J' stands for 'Japan' while '50' is the milestone of Ferrari's 50th anniversary of entering the Japanese market".
The J50 is a product of Ferrari's Foley Serie personalization program. This program has created a car with significant changes in interior and exterior design compared to the original Ferrari 488 Spider.
"We wanted to make an effort to create a more special version. Although developed based on the 488 Spider, the Ferrari J50 has a completely new design," Mr. Galliera added.
Let's admire the Ferrari J50 supercar "in the flesh and blood":

The main idea behind the design changes was to create a Ferrari 488 Spider in the style of the famous barchetta racing cars of the 1940s. In the past, barchetta was a 2-seater sports car built for racing by Italians. |

Therefore, compared to the 488 Spider, the Ferrari J50 is equipped with a more aggressive and aerodynamic front end. On the front of the car, there are slimmer full LED headlights. Meanwhile, on the redesigned front bumper, there are new "muscular" spoilers. The hood has been lowered and the wheel arches are wider than before to give the Ferrari J50 a "muscular" look. In addition, on the hood, there are also a pair of carbon fiber air vents. |

The Ferrari 488 Spider's folding hardtop is gone. In its place is a two-piece carbon fiber targa roof. When not in use, the Ferrari J50's roof can be stowed behind the seats. |

Another difference between the Ferrari J50 and the 488 Spider is the black dividing line running from the front to the side of the car. This is a design similar to Ferrari's iconic models such as the GTO, F40 and F50. |

The rear of the J50 has a few new details, the most notable of which are the dual taillights on both sides, which resemble older Ferrari supercars. Next is the new rear diffuser and a pair of exhaust pipes inspired by the design of the afterburner of an aircraft engine. |

Other exterior design highlights of the Ferrari J50 include a set of bespoke 20-inch wheels and a transparent polycarbonate engine cover. Underneath this cover is a 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, but it doesn't produce the same 670 horsepower as the standard 488 Spider. Instead, Ferrari engineers have increased the engine's maximum power to 690 horsepower. |

For now, Ferrari has not announced the maximum torque of this engine on the J50. It is predicted that the maximum torque of the Ferrari J50 will be higher than the 760 Nm of the standard 488 Spider. |

The specific performance specifications of the Ferrari J50 are also currently kept secret. Meanwhile, the Ferrari 488 Spider can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3 seconds and reach a maximum speed of more than 325 km/h. |

If you like the design of the J50, you will be happy to know that this is not just a regular special edition of the 488 Spider. According to Ferrari, the body of the J50 is a preview of the company's future design language. |

According to Ferrari, there will be exactly 10 J50s manufactured and sold on the market. Of course, all 10 Ferrari J50s are built according to the requirements of each owner. Therefore, no two Ferrari J50s will be the same. |

Exclusively for the Japanese market, the Ferrari J50 is sold at a starting price of up to 2.35 million Euros, equivalent to 2.45 million USD or 55.77 billion VND. According to some sources, all 10 Ferrari J50s have found their owners. The cars are expected to be delivered to customers in the period from 2017-2018. |
