APG fiber optic cable opens, Vietnam's international internet is stronger
The APG submarine cable line, which has just been put into operation by telecommunications companies, can help make international Internet from Vietnam faster.
According to announcements from domestic telecommunications companies, the APG cable line invested by VNPT, Viettel, FPT and CMC has just officially come into operation after about 4 years of construction.
APG (Asia Pacific Gateway) is the submarine optical cable with the largest traffic volume currently operating in the Asia region, with a maximum bandwidth of up to 54 Tbps. Currently, network operators are operating at 4 Tbps.

This cable is 10,400 km long, located under the Pacific Ocean, passing through 9 Asian countries including China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
Having a foothold in the new submarine cable helps the Internet in Vietnam become more stable and less dependent on the AAG line as before. In 2016, AAG had three problems, causing significant impacts on individual users and businesses.
