On December 21, after two days of the first instance trial of Nguyen Van Het and four accomplices prosecuted for two crimes of fraud and appropriation of property and forgery of seals and documents of agencies and organizations, the People's Court of Can Tho City deliberated and announced that it would announce the verdict at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow (December 22).

The representative of the People's Procuracy proposed to sentence Nhat to 19-21 years in prison, Duong Thanh Phong to 12-14 years in prison, and Phan Viet Hoai to 4-6 years in prison, all for the above two crimes; proposed to sentence Nguyen Ngoc Nguyen to 12-13 years in prison for fraud and appropriation of property; proposed to sentence Hua Thi Thuy Dung to 2-3 years in prison, suspended, for the crime of forging seals and documents of agencies and organizations.

Notably, the representative of the People's Procuracy requested the court to recover the amount of money that the defendants had appropriated from the victims, nearly 3 billion VND, to confiscate because the transaction between the defendants and the victims was illegal.

Speaking, some victims agreed with the prosecutor's request, some disagreed, and some asked to "split the money in half" so they could find other jobs for their children...

According to the indictment, in 2006, Het established and held the position of director of Tien Dat Security Services Company Limited (headquartered in Can Tho City). In 2014, knowing that some people wanted to work in the police force and study at the police college, Het came up with the idea of ​​using deceitful tricks to defraud them.

Accordingly, Het introduced himself as an acquaintance of the officers of the Organization Department of the Ministry of Public Security, so he could help them find jobs and study in the police force. Het gave the victims his phone number but said it was the number of officers of the Organization Department of the Ministry of Public Security named HHT and TVT so that the victims could contact him themselves.

He then directed Phong and Viet (company employees) to participate in impersonating officers of the Organization Department to answer phone calls, meet victims, or impersonate relatives of officers of the Organization Department to receive money from victims... The price for each case of getting a job or studying in the police force was 150-250 million VND. In the process of committing the crime, the defendants also had Nguyen Ngoc Nguyen participate.

Finally, Het photocopied the real decision to accept the police. Het asked Dung (a company employee) to draft the documents, then cut and paste the police signature and seal to create fake recruitment notices and decisions to give to the victims.

From July 2014 to March 2015, Het and his accomplices committed a total of 36 frauds, appropriating nearly 3 billion VND. Of these, 30 involved people getting jobs or studying in the police force, two involved people getting jobs in the social insurance sector, one involved people getting jobs at a lottery company, one involved people getting jobs at a hospital, one involved people transferring jobs in the army, and one involved people getting real estate documents./.
